Our Lady of Hope Parent-Teacher Association

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you and your families to Our Lady of Hope Regional School. As PTA board members, it is our responsibility to inform you about our organization, about our events and fundraisers, and most importantly encourage you to get involved in your school.

What is the PTA and who can be a Member?

Our PTA strives to enhance our children’s educational experiences. Our primary objective as a PTA is to provide our schools with funds, programs, resources and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child. To meet this important objective, and afford services that are no longer covered by our school budgets, we must fundraise. Though it may not be our favorite responsibility, it is a necessary one. We use the funds we raise throughout the year to offer programs and social events for students and families as well as honor our teachers and staff.

Become a Volunteer…Why YOU should get involved!

As you can see, we are a busy group. This is where get involved! We need your help, and so do your children. It is well known that when parents get involved in their children’s education grades go up, test scores improve, children are more likely to attend better schools after high school, and they have fewer discipline problems. Not to mention they LOVE to see Mom & Dad at school. Get involved TODAY!

Please review the PTA volunteer sheet link below, indicate what events/activities interest you, and return the form or complete the form online as soon as possible. A PTA table will also be set up during Back-to-School Night, please stop by to see all of our volunteer opportunities! Volunteering doesn’t have to mean a huge time commitment. We understand it is difficult to find time to give, but whatever your schedule allows, we have can use your help. We have tasks that can be performed in the evenings, during the day or that don’t even involve coming to the school at all.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

Catholic Schools Week 2012 was a huge success! The students enjoyed a week full of fun and service. We would like to thank the many volunteers who came for all of the events this week. You helped to make this week a huge success! A special thank you to Donna Kane and Maria Mahon for coordinating the carnival for the students, they had a blast!

PASTA DINNER

Thank you to everyone who attended the Pasta Dinner. We had over 350 people in attendance on Saturday night. Thank you to D’Orazio Foods for donating all of the food for the event. The kids had a great time dancing the night away and with JoJo the clown who painted faces and made balloon animals. It was a wonderful family night! Thank you to all of the volunteers and especially Tricia Cappello for organizing this successful event.

BINGO FOR BAGS

The PTA will be hosting BINGO for BAGS on March 22, 2012. This was a great event last year that sold out very quickly. Forms will be available online shortly. Tickets will be available to OLOH families first. We will send an email blast when it is posted. June 1 –Barnes & Noble Book fair – come out and purchase your summer reading to benefit OLOH. This was a great success last year. This year we will be taking pre-orders for the summer reading to ensure book availability, more details to come.

Sister Paula’s 70th Birthday

On behalf of the entire student body and OLOH community, the PTA presented Sister Paula with two tickets for a Broadway show in New York City as well as a gift card for her time there. We are glad that we could join in this celebration with Sister for her special birthday celebration.
